Summary
To save his grandson, a retired rodeo star enters a high-stakes bull-riding competition. Along the way, he confronts his past, discovers faith, and proves that true courage lies in family.
Characters
Gotta love old cowboys. Plus, I love Neal McDonough in general. Joe loves his family and is, of course, stubborn as all get out. His daughter is a little irritating. I love his buddy, though. We all need a good buddy like that.
Atmosphere
It’s almost a weird combination of old west and modern west. Sometimes I forget it was a modern time story. It does have that feeling of hope and determination and makes you want to do something.
Music
Not gonna lie, I didn’t pay much attention to the music in this one. It wasn’t really a highlighted feature.
Plot
An old cowboy needs a lot of money to save his grandson. It’s a plot that’s been done before, but can still be very effective with the actors and writing.
Intrigue
Will he be able to win? Will his broken body hold up long enough to win? Will they get the money for his grandson?
Logic
Stubborn man makes slightly dumb decisions. Fairly normal and very believable.
Enjoyment and Final Thoughts
Overall, I did enjoy the movie, even though I don’t typically watch these types of movies. It’s an inspiring story and it makes you want to chase your dreams and appreciate your family and true friends.
Would I Recommend It?
Yes. If you’re looking for a good movie to watch with the fam or just want something a bit heartwarming, go for it.
