Summary
After Santa Claus is kidnapped, the North Pole's Head of Security must team up with a notorious hacker in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas.
Characters
All vibrant, all fun. Santa is swole (JK Simmons is in surprisingly good shape). As usual, The Rock’s character was a bit stubborn and impulsive/hotheaded. There was a fun array of mythical characters such as trolls, Krampus, and the Headless Horseman.
Atmosphere
Fun Christmas action, urgent but combative. Snowy Christmas time!
Writing Style
Fairly fun and clever. Could have done with fewer swears, hence the missing half star.
Plot
Again it was fairly fun and clever. Showed our “real” Santa in a cool environment with clear history. Hidden North Pole reminiscent of Wakanda. I liked seeing some of Jack’s skills at use in the beginning and throughout.
Intrigue
Who took Santa? And why? A decent little mystery.
Logic
Plays off of lots of Christmas mythologies fairly well. The magic elements made as much sense as they needed to.
Enjoyment and Final Thoughts
I really liked it. It was fun and silly with a dose of action/spy movie. Would definitely watch again for fun.
Would I Recommend It?
Yes! Keep in mind there is unnecessary swearing, but other than that it’s a good time.
Memorable Quote
“Every decision, big or small, is an opportunity to do good.”
